No Doubt is touring with Paramore this summer!

OMFG.

I will go to this shit all by my lonesome, but it'd be eleventy times more fun with friends. Who's in? Fuck, I'm totally jizzing in my pants.

Stolen with love from [livejournal.com profile] ktface3. ♥

One of the earliest songs you can remember listening to:
Girl's Nite Out - Tyler Collins This song was HUGE the summer before I started kindergarten. Me and all the girls on the bus to camp would sing along to it whenever it played on the radio.

Song from the artist you last saw live:
Guitar Hero - Amanda Palmer

Song you currently can't get out of your head:
Valerie - Steve Winwood

I'm updating Drew the iPod, and I've suddenly been struck with inspiration for a Michael Scott fanmix.

I love projects.

ETA - The Stewart/Colbert cover for Rolling Stone is now available in poster form. *grabby hands*

This song is my current obsession. I ♥ you, Amanda Palmer.

So, I've been taking random photos on my camera (including the Law & Order mug of lost awesomeness). I fully intend to share them all with my beloved flist, but I think there's one that deserves its own post.

My old cassette collection! Finding this was like happening upon lost artifacts. I don't even remember buying half of these; I'm pretty sure I stole a bunch of them from an elementary school friend. Ahhh, memories.

    Albums:
  • 702 - No Doubt
  • Tony Braxton - Secrets
  • Janet Jackson - Janet
  • MTV - Party To Go Vol. 3
  • Salt N' Pepa - A Salt with a Deadly Pepa
  • Salt n' Pepa - Blacks' Magic
  • U2 - Pop

Clearly, I had a very specific taste in music as a kid. I was a ghetto flower, lol. There are also a few mixtapes in there. I'd have to bring them out to my car to listen to them, because there aren't any tape players in the house.

I am LOLing over this discovery.
themightybee: (Idol - David Cook)

You know, I haven't even watched American Idol this season. Anything I have seen has been through streaming video and even that I haven't watched much of. I really just don't care.

But. You guys. David Cook (and his giant baby skull - wtf was that, btw?!) really really ridiculously awesome. It should come as a surprise to no one that it was [livejournal.com profile] expatiates who first pointed me in his direction (thnx, bb!) and she was right in doing so. I admit he;s vaguely Daughtry-esque, but he doesn't have a big dumb bald head and he's barely got an 1/8th of his cockiness.

Oh, hey! Who's up for a flashback of the greatest. idol moment. EVER.?

Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!1!

Anyway.

I really enjoy me some dcook (or dcock, as I like to say - I CALL COPYRIGHT!) and I just saw his performance of "Billie Jean" and, as you can all tell, it's woken me up out of my usual morning coma. And that's kind of hilarious, because I was already asleep and on my fifth dream when it actually aired!

I usually hate the mainstream big arena rock scene or whatever, but I wanna hit that shit like the hammer of God.

David Cook: FUCK YEAH. (Apparently, I feel the same way about parentheticals. Speaking of...)

(I know there are some of you that don't like dcook and/or Idol and general and all that it stands for blah blah blah and that's fine. Knowing that I know that, though, you should have no reason to comment here to tell me how you feel...because I know! You see what I'm getting at?)

OMG I HAVE TO LEAVE FOR WORK IN 10 MINUTES FUUUUUCK. :x

My dear acquaintance
it's so good to know you
For strength of your hand
That is loving and giving
And a happy new year
With love overflowing
With joy in our hearts
For the blessed new year

Raise your glass and we'll have a cheer
For us all who are gathered here
And a happy new year to all that is living
To all that is gentle, kind, and forgiving
Raise your glass and we'll have a cheer
My dear acquaintance, a happy new year

All of those who are hither and yonder
With love in our hearts
We grow fonder and fonder
Hail to those who we hold so dear
And hail to those who are gathered here

And a happy new year to all that is living
To all that is gentle, young, and forgiving
Raise your glass and we'll have a cheer
My dear acquaintance, a happy new year
Happy new year

First, I recycled a favorite layout of mine. [livejournal.com profile] disadulation - they're a regular Oceans Eleven.

Thank Jebus for gift cards. They're so helpful when you have no actual money to spend. I've got a Hess gas card that, in my mind, is worth more than a brick of gold. I have two other gift cards, Walmart and iTunes, that are already tapped out. Heh.

    What I Bought at Walmart:
  • clear casing for iDrew the iTouch
  • last two pints of Americone Dreams!

    What I bought at iTunes:
  • Under The Covers, Vol. 1 - Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs
  • "Phantom Limb" - The Shins
  • "Stronger" - Kanye West
  • "Umbrella" - Rihanna f/ Jay-Z
  • "Young Folks" - Peter Bjorn and John
  • "Can't Believe A Single Word" - VHS or BETA
  • "Better Days" - Goo Goo Dolls

I'm making a playlist of 2007 favorites and had a few missing songs. Also, Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs are just adorable fluff for my ears. Yay!

So, [livejournal.com profile] sonjamillicent shared some of her favorite songs through the magic of YouTube and threatened virtual harm if the rest of us didn't do the same. Because I don't want to be cyber-shanked, I'm doing as she says.

Somehow, my list turned into a compilation of my favorite songs (and their weird as fuck videos) from the mostly-90's. It made me all nostalgic and shit. I almost want to smudge my eyeliner and draw sharpie doodles on my artfully torn jeans. Almost.

Nostalgia ahoy! )
themightybee: (Blake - The Robotic Dolphin Shibby)
Comment on this post. I will choose 6 interests from your profile and you will explain what each of them means (and why you're interested in them).

Usually, I wouldn't bother with an lj-cut, but I was given the impression that I was to include photos upon photos upon photos.

;)

expatiates wants to know about: adrian pasdar, blake lewis, enviga, lonesome trio, key west, jenna fischer )

I, like most of the free world, have gotten my hands on Kelly Clarkson's new album, My December. I've read an equal amount of reviews by people who hated it by those who loved it, so I started listening with no prejudgments.

track by track review )

Clearly, I'm 50/50 on the album, but that doesn't mean I think it's bad. Whatever ANYONE thinks of it, Kelly faught tooth and nail against her label heads to get My December released. She knows it's not a commercial album, and she's okay with that. She simply wants her vision seen, which she succeeded in, so she's already won.
themightybee: (Hot Boys - Pretty As Fuck)
[livejournal.com profile] forcedmovement posted this in her journal, but I know there are some Fall Out Boy Gayfest 07 attendees that aren't on her flist.

Fall Out Boy shows dated before May 11th are RESCHEDULED )

It's a definite pain in the ass, but it's not completely horrible. West Palm is rescheduled for June 16th and I'll be finished with both school and work by then. I just have to cross my fingers and pray the airfare deities are kind to me.

My only concern is that I've got a prior commitment on the 15th so I'd have to fly in the day of the show.
