I am thoroughly unexcited by Sarah Palin's appearance on SNL. I don't care that she may take part in something deviously self-deprecating. Her mere existence makes me seethe.

I'm thankful she won't be on when Jon Hamm hosts, as was originally rumored. I'd have been inconsolable.

One of the camera guys slipped that all four candidates are apparently scheduled for the Hamm show. Whether he was pulling a fast one on me remains to be seen, but that would definitely be some spectacle. Biden obviously has yet to appear, so he's due anyway. Obama would probably be on every week if possible. McCain did actually have a sense of humor about his appearance, though I didn't find him particularly entertaining. But Palin? Was there a more pointless cameo? She refused to do the two bits asked of her. Maybe the rap was a dash overboard, but would standing on a set poking jokes about reporters next to Tina Fey really have been that bad? She's welcome to redeem herself next week if that foursome is true, but right now I don't understand why she even bothered to hype her appearance (much to Lorne Michaels' incredible disdain) only to just stand and sit there.
