I left these for someone else, but I thought I'd post them here as well. For all of you who are having a hard time deciding who you want to vote for, here are a few links that are excellent for research.

On The Issues - It's tagline says it all: "Every political leader on every issue." It also includes state and federal officeholders, should you want to research your local elections.

2decide.com's election table - an easy-to-read chart on the candidate's positions on important political issues

ProCon.org - It lists candidates alphabetically or by the issues.

Five Thirty Eight - From the website's FAQ: "What is the mission of this website? Most broadly, to accumulate and analyze polling and political data in way that is informed, accurate and attractive. Most narrowly, to give you the best possible objective assessment of the likely outcome of upcoming elections."

Whoever your candidate is, know that it's awesome you're declaring your vote. Too many people opt out of having their voice heard, and I think that's a shame.

Exactly! I worked with a number of people this summer who would chance into talking issues or politics with me, and they either considered themselves Republicans, or were a little more right-leaning than I am, but they'd always conclude with, "but you don't have to worry, I'm not voting/not registered." And I would always react with, "UH-BWAH?!" One girl told me she didn't feel educated enough about the issues/candidates so she didn't bother registering and I asked her why she didn't go educate herself and she said it just doesn't affect her that much. It baffles me that people think that way. Especially the part about it being better for me as a Democrat that they don't vote, but that's not how the process works at all! :( :( :(
