Maybe they seriously don't want The Office to be a many-seasoned and fruitful comedy like it has the potential to be. Maybe they are scared of it. I mean, it's already proven it can break beyond the constraints of nearly every other sitcom on television for the past forty years (OH EM GEE AN HOUR LONG COMEDY! FORSHAME THAT IS NOT THE STANDARD FOR DOING THINGS!). Maybe they miss the studio audiences and laugh tracks and one-note comedies that last eight or nine seasons on one routine (Everybody Loves Raymond = women have expectations that men don't live up to, Will and Grace = insert gay joke here). I mean, I don't know what else they think they are doing. Someone get Ed Helms in here to call saboteur.
I mean even if it's a different branch with a brand new cast and the occasional visit from David Wallace and Ryan, it's stupid to try to replicate the charisma and chemistry and humor that sits just fine in the show now.
