themightybee: (The Office - Michael Loves Lamp)

hiya buddy!

Thursday night TV was spectacular on all fronts last night.

30 ROCK
Fred Armisen! I am so in love with that man it's ridiculous. I mean, he's probably one of those indie nerds who references bands and movies that I've never heard of and would probably cry all over my iPod because it's filled with pedestrian-as-fuck music, but that's the sort of abuse I'd be willing to take. I just wanna snuggle him. ♥

Kristen Wiig as Lifetime!CC was fantastic. I love the SNL love on this show.

Jack/CC is BLOWING MY MIND. I always knew that he'd find himself hot for a democrat.

Tracey's chastising of the pigeon will sit in the bowels of 30 Rock's vault of comic fucking gold forever.

I continue to worship at the altar of Kenneth Parcell. ♥

First...OMG THIS CANNOT BE THE LAST EPISODE OF THE SEASON I SWEAR I WILL KILL MYSELF...LIKE IN ROMEO & JULIET...THE CLAIRE DANES VERSION. IT HURTS MY HEART. IT HURTS MY STOMACH. IT HURTS MY ARMS. I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN PUNCHED IN THE GRIEF BONE AND I AM VERY...very...alone.

*cough*

Pam's notes to Michael were the most adorable thing ever. The hot dog...it had fingers! HOT DOG FINGERS.

On Steve Carell's behalf I'd like to say, "Emmy, please!" *grabby hands*

I've always said that I wasn't sure who my absolute favorite character on this show was until I found myself crying along with Michael Scott at the end of Office Olympics. I completely and utterly love him and his flaws and his dangerously open heart.

I loved the parallels between the A and B plots. Michael was so the ping pong ball that Jan and corporate continued to slam back and forth. I've never been anything less than indifferent towards Jan, but I really kind of hated her last night. I don't doubt that she loves Michael, but she's still so blinded by her bitterness that she was willing to put him on the line in order to win her battle. I wanted for Andy to pop up out of nowhere and punch a hole in her face.

Speaking of Andy, what was with the lack of tertiary characters? Yeah, it was nice to see Kelly in a storyline that didn't involve Ryan and it is ALWAYS nice to see Darryl, but why was everyone else relegated to deleted scenes? I wanted one last hurrah with everyone before they ride into the sunsets, picket signs blazing.

But back to Michael. He has a diary! As much as that shot in the cafeteria of Ryan and his bearded clones laughing behind their copies of the diary, I love that it was almost immediately followed by Jan's attorney asking Michael who that "girl, Ryan" is. Who's laughing now, Vagina Face. (The answer, by the way, is Toby.)

Really, I just want to give Michael a hug. I want to gather him in my arms and cuddle him like a baby koala.

In other news, The Who should reunite (again) and write a musical on those ping pong wizards, Dwight and Mose.

I never have much to say about Ugly Betty because it's one of those shows where I like to bask in the giggles and warm fuzzies without thinking too deeply about it. It's my comfort food of TV shows; although, it's a lot better for my heart than the microwavable "food" I scarfed down while watching it.

I am very much in agreement with the things I read here!

Jack/CC was BRILLIANT. God, I want to kiss you on the mouth to stop you from saying such ridiculous things.

You. Cannot. Beat that. Cannot. That is WIN. I need a Jack icon. :D

Remember when I totally missed the ping pong symbolism? And I very much wanted to hug Michael Scott as well. :( I just so loved the kind of acting without words that went on last night, all in his facial responses to what Jan said or did. Also, the confusion over "That's what she said"? Priceless.

Wow. Wow. Completely missed the ping pong symbolism. You, my friend, are a genius. I can put "disadulation is a genius" on wikipedia if you'd like, then you'd know for sure that it's true. I'm still depressed about there being no Andy. :'( That deleted scene was really great, wish it had been in the episode. But I LOVED Michael in this episode, and his diary! Who knew he was a 13 year old girl trapped in a 44 year old man's body? I bet you he had a page dedicated to just Ryan's name surrounded by a bunch of hearts.

I haven't watched 30 Rock yet, so can't comment (although I have a feeling I'm going to hate Jack having a love interest). And Ugly Betty, well, that is a show that I go into very deep thought over. Not sure why, it's such a frilly show, and yet I can't resist delving into the hidden meanings. I won't bore you with my ramblings though! But it was a VERY good episode, and add Judith Light to that Emmy list along with Steve Carell.
