You guys, my dreams from 2004 are finally starting to come true!

What do Mary J. Blige, Clay Aiken and Elvis Costello have in common? All three are the latest celebs to make cameos on “30 Rock.” According to a spy, the trio was on the show’s set Wednesday, hanging out with Tina Fey and company. “They were psyched to meet Tina,” our insider reports. “But it was Alec Baldwin who had everyone cracking up — that guy is hilarious!”

Pardon me while I dust off Measure of a Man, don my power beads and flail about this in my lime green clam-shell iMac notebook. OMFG.

Also, he's presenting at this year's GLAAD Awards. What a good panda. <3

Tina Fey, my imaginary Wife Inside My Head, is writing a book!

However, the book will not be a memoir - the publication claims it's been pitched as "non-fiction humour, more in the style of author, screenwriter and film director Nora Ephron".

Squee! I've got Nora Ephron's Crazy Salad laying abandoned in my car, thanks to my modern lit class. I cannot wait to have Tina Fey's book forgotten next to it, lol.

Great Emmy winner, or greatest Emmy winner?

That, Tina Fey's 400 billion wins and Mad Men's series win were my favorite moments last night. Oh, and Josh Groban's theme song medley. That was a total mind fuck.

I know there are a few people who will disagree with me, but I loved the near constant digs at McCain, Palin and Bush. Liberal Hollywood FTW. Tommy Smothers is my new grandpa crush.

On the shallow front, Jenna and Angela were both wearing green, my favorite color. I'm choosing to believe it's because they love me best. Yep.

ETA - From this post @ [livejournal.com profile] ontd_political:

Colbert got a little more pointed backstage in the media tent. Asked which actor he would cast as Republican presidential candidate John McCain, Colbert said, "[Don] Rickles, obviously, would be good. And maybe me for Sarah Palin, because I also have absolutely no business being vice president."

LMAO.

I just made a boatload of icons (boatload, of course, being the proper measurement for "43") from "Dinner Party" and I'm actually kind of in love with the coloring.

Preview:

If you love me, you'll check out the rest here @ [livejournal.com profile] living_icons (and maybe friend it because it's a lonely icon journal *tear*).

Also, I made my first post ever over at ONTD. I posted scans of Tina Fey making me gay in Entertainment Weekly. I love her, damn it.

tonight.

Tonight. Tonight
Won't be just any night.
Tonight there will be no morning star.
Tonight. Tonight.
I'll see my love tonight
And for us, stars will stop where they are.

Or, you know, this...

MY BITCHES ARE BACK!

Happy Lemon/Beesly Thursday!

Andy, You're a Star - an Andy Bernard mix I posted the other day at [livejournal.com profile] threehole_punch. Even if you're not into Andy/The Office, you should check it out because the stories (vignettes, maybe?) that go along with the songs are the closest I will ever get to writing fanfic.

RIT-DIT-DIT-DIT-DOO.

I am ridiculously happy with the results of last night's SAG Awards. Another win for Tina! And she actually got to give a speech this time! I ♥ my nerdy little hat rack. I'm also really glad The Office won for best comedy ensemble. As much as I love 30 Rock, they excel in individual performances, whereas the cast of The Office is a well-oiled, unstoppable machine of chemistry (no matter how lackluster this season's been).

Also, this:

(btw, that cap is from the photobooth video here.)

Also, randomly, I kind of really fucking miss How I Met Your Mother.

Jenna Fischer is my hot hot sex.

Tina Fey is Tinker Bell!

Andy Cooper is just plain fucking awesome:

For the last two nights we have reported on actor Heath Ledger. His shocking death is clearly a story a lot of people are interested in, but tonight we will not be reporting more on it. The truth is there is not really anything new to report.

The full results of the various tests done on Mr. Ledger will not be ready for perhaps a few weeks and there is very little new information. I have no doubt other networks will spend a lot of time tonight discussing his death and the various rumors about what might have caused it, but I am not a fan of speculation, so unless there is something really new to discuss we probably won’t be covering it anymore anytime soon.

one-note golden globes reaction )

I support the strike fully, but the Golden Globes is the one award show I actually enjoy. Poor Jack Nicholson is probably swilling a bottle of wine with his reflection in the mirror. :(

ETA - Why did I lock this post? O.o

As much as I'm going to miss my shows when they're out of new episodes, I'm really proud of them for standing by their writers. That Greg Daniels immediately shut down production for The Office, one of NBC Universal's greatest sources of revenue, is fantastic. Word on the street is that cast and crew are picketing on the set.

Their solidarity gives me the warm fuzzies. So does this:

In related news, the strike may have caused its first casualty with Tim Kring.

I've really missed my Thursday night line-up. It's the only night of TV that I truly love. I know there are about 100 more shows that I should be watching but I love my comedies. They're bunnies and kittens and hot cocoa and unicorns. They make me stupidly happy.

I'm giving my Emmy predictions now because I'm bored and my hair is marinating in hair dye. I'm only focusing on the comedy categories because I only watch one drama, and for some reason, the one person I wanted to be nominated, Jack Motherfucking Coleman, was overlooked by sentimental favorite, Masi Oka. (Whyyy, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences? Whyyyyyyyyyyy?!) This is where my cynicism kicks in. I'm completely expecting NONE of my favorites to win. TWoP is pretty much expecting the same.

Here are the people i want to win. These are probably the people who won't win.

And the winner is...WHO?! )

Also, I'm not sure if I want Stephen Colbert to win Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program, or if I'd rather see Tony Bennett win it and have Stephen experience faux rage for a full week. Either would be pretty sweet.

5 Reasons to Watch 30 Rock
By star and exec producer Tina Fey

1. Alec Baldwin as a right-wing corporate alpha male is way hotter than a bunch of fake doctors getting it on.

2. Enjoy Kenneth the Page (Jack McBrayer) now before he gets his spin-off, Kenneth: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

3. We strive to have the highest joke-per-minute ratio since 1-800-Dial-a-Joke.

4. At long last, Paul Reubens, Sean Hayes, Will Arnett, Isabella Rossellini, Ghostface Killah, and Elaine Stritch all in one place!

5. You're already watching The Office. Just sit still, for Pete's sake.
